Doing Good things this holiday season for those less Fortunate.
I am especially inspired to give back a little more this time of year…and the last two weeks have been filled with putting some smiles on many faces. My annual Jewelry making event at Miller Children’s Hospital, women returning vets and several smaller organizations takes me right through the holidays in good spirits. My givebacks are planned throughout the year but I also do random smaller things to help brighten the season. One thing I do is get $1.00 bills and hand them out to the homeless as I go about my day. On a grand scale this how one local Long Beach restaurant is giving back.
Cesar’s Bistro restaurant is earning wings this year. This local Latin American restaurant will treat those struggling with homelessness to a holiday lunch.
The lunch will be held at “Beacon for Him Ministries Homeless Outreach. Lunch will prepared by Chef Cesar Villarreal and served by Chef Cesar’s wife and co-owner Luz Angelica Torres, as well as the restaurant’s staff.
The multi-course early lunch will provide a meal for 100 homeless men, women and children.
“We realize that there are many among us who don’t get the chance to dine out at our restaurant,” said Luz Angelica Torres in a statement. “Providing this lunch is our way of of giving back to the Long Beach community this holiday season while bringing attention to the city’s growing homelessness concern.”
The menu will be lentil soup, Chef Cesar’s specialty sautéed rice with pork and chicken and the restaurant’s signature empanadas.
“We were excited and thankful when Cesar’s Bistro approached us about serving lunch to our clients,” said Shannon James, president at Beacon Hill“ Our clientele does not get the opportunity to enjoy our local restaurants so this will be very much appreciated.”
Please show your support of this restaurant by enjoying the great food they serve during the year. They are located at 6240 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Long Beach
